Everything is good in France, hope all is well at home! Today we walked down to the Marché Quintaou, the Thursday morning outdoor market just down the street. We bought some veggies and baguettes and enjoyed the warmer weather (it was high 50's today... impressive for February!)
Now we are just desperately waiting to buy a car and get functioning Internet in our apartment! Tomorrow we have an appointment to set up a French bank account, which is the ONLY way to pay for Internet, and get car insurance, which you also do at the bank. Our friends Stephane and Elodie have a friend that wants to sell his old Renault Clio, but figuring out a time that works for everyone (the French don't seem to be in a hurry to do anything) has been a bit difficult. We are supposed to go tomorrow, so we'll see...
Last Sunday we participated in a beach cleanup put on by Surfrider Foundation Europe's local chapter. The beaches here are so beautiful, so I was amazed at how much trash ends up in certain parts. For some reason, the wind moves all of the debris and lumps it all together in certain spots on the Atlantic coast.
We go to Bilbao this weekend, so I am very excited to see the Guggenheim! More pictures to come...
Love,
Britta and Elliott
